Using AxCrypt you can easily password protect, encrypt or Decrypt files and folders for absolutely free. It is an excellent free encryption utility that enables users to encrypt all files within a folder and not allow those files to be viewed unless a password is known.
Just download the utility and install. Now, To encrypt or password protect a file, right-click it and select AxCrypt/Encrypt. Enter the Passphrase or password. You are done. Now your file is password protected. To edit or view an encrypted file, just double-click it and enter the passphrase or password. To decrypt, right-click and select AxCrypt/Decrypt. Encrypted files have an AXX extension added to their names. The utility uses AES-128 and SHA-1 algorithms for encryption or Decryption.
