Your computer must be having a folder where you keep all of your favorite short videos taken from the digital camera. You watch them just to refresh your memory. Most of your videos contain the sequences of which you want to capture them as a photograph. For example, say your are shooting some video from your digital camera and your new born baby starts walking (say for 5 second), suddenly you have no time to think but you shift the focus of your camera just to capture it in video. But you wanted to capture your baby’s first step as a photograph. You can easily take a frame right out of your video file and save it as a photo or image.
Using Imagegrab you can extract images from all kind of video file formats like avi, mpeg, wmv, live video streams, un-encrypted DVDs et cetera. The utility is very easy and is free for personal use. If you want it for commercial use then you have to buy out the liscence. In some simple steps you can easily extract the photos of your beloved ones right from the movie.
Just download the exe file and double click on the file you just downloaded. It will open one window. You need to click on the first icon situated in left side of the window. Click on it to browse for the video you want to upload. Alternatively, press Ctrl+F . By default, ImageGrab proposes to open files with extension avi, mpg, wmv, asf
The video will be loaded in imageGrab and activate eventually the navigation keys below the video. The size of the loaded video is displayed above the video window. It indicates also the size of the next grabbed picture, according to the key you press, between native (F2), 4x3 (F3) or 16x9 (F4). Here I have pressed F3 to get a picture of size 720x540. If I had kept the genuine format of 720x576, the head of the late Rostropovitch would have looked even taller.
Different computer systems have diffirent decoder filtes, so sometimes the picture will be inverted (head down). In that case, click on the button Flip Vertical (F11) to reverse the picture as shown below.

When a video is loaded in ImageGrab, choose the folder where the pictures will be saved, by typing CTRL+S.

Navigate then in the video, until you reach the frame to be grabbed. You can use the navigation buttons and the trackbar located below the video window. You can also enter directly a timecode position above the video, and type Enter to reach directly the position.When the desired picture is displayed in the video, use the following buttons to extract the picture
