Generally people use third party softwares to enhance security to their files and folders. But many of us do not know that Microsoft inherently provides it. Let me tell you the steps to how to protect your folder from prying eyes. One can assign password to the compressed folder or zip file present on your computer.
Locate your compressed folder or zip file in Windows Explorer or My Computer, then just open the folder by double clicking on it.
Click File menu, choose “Add password” , and put in your password twice then click on OK.
All of the files thar are available in compressed folder are password-protected at the time of encryption or password adding. If you add subsequent files in the folder they will not be password-protected, to password protect subsequent files, the password needs to be removed and added again to achieve the results.
